Tradition and progress - a challenge for every ruler in the 19th century. In the Bavarian State Exhibition, which will be presented at the House of Bavarian History in Regensburg from May 10 to November 9, 2025, we travel back to the Kingdom of Bavaria. King Ludwig I ascended the throne there 200 years ago - a ruler with contradictions in a time of upheaval that was also shaped by him.
Experience the changing Bavaria of Ludwig I. From revived customs and traditions to industrialization, there is a lot on offer. Ludwig struggles through a politically challenging time. In the end, the question is: who ultimately has more power - the king or the people? Could Ludwig I really have been Bavaria's greatest king?
